It was only a LITTLE brain surgery, they said. It'll be fun, they said. Ok, they didn't say that. But, they did say that she's out of surgery and did great! Ok. That's my update. Done. Fini. ;)
Wait, am I supposed to say more? Isn't that enough?!?? She sets the bar way too high, but here's a LITTLE more info. The doctor found me in the waiting area a few minutes ago, interrupting a really amazingly overwhelming call that I was having (you know who you are). He walked up to me, smiling and quickly saying how well everything went. There really aren't many details at the moment, but he said that they'll have her in a room within 2 hours and that I'll be able to see her then. Once she's more alert and the drugs have worn off a little, he said that it will be perfectly fine to go ahead and use the Ommaya for treatment. Which... is kinda good considering that is already scheduled for 4:00 today.
We also have some details around her ongoing treatment. In addition to her regular chemo every other week, she'll be having 2 CSF treatments each week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. It was a little interesting to learn that her Oncologist will be personally administering the treatment and that no one else is allowed to do so. Lots of questions on that but have to wait.
More to come when we know more. Thank you all SO much for the continued prayers and support. It's reassuring, comforting, and overwhelming - al at the same time. :)
Skip... I just want to say I LOVE YOU ALL! Love Mom
